Task basics

Tasks form the basic component of your Board views like Kanban, List, Gantt and Calendar. You can create and assign tasks to yourself or your team and have a better handle on your sprints and projects. Here's how you can make the best out of tasks:
You can add a new task to your board by clicking the + button next to the name of the column (or at the bottom of the column). Add as many titles as you need and hit save to create bulk tasks. To create a single task, just add the title and hit save. Then, open the task and start working on it.
Done with working on this task? Check the mark as complete box! This changes the status of the task and you will easily be able to find a list of completed tasks using the filter option.
On clicking the full screen button, the task will expand to cover your screen (except the sidebar) so you have a bigger canvas to work on, distraction-free.
You can delete a task by clicking on the horizontal kebab menu next to the Upvote button and delete it.
You can check out just how a task got to the stage it did and who worked on it, using Task history. View information such as sub-task creation, status changes, new custom fields, completion changes, column changes, who's been watching it, and a lot more.
Choose between high, medium, and low-priority options for your task to give it the importance it needs. The corresponding color will appear on the task card on your board so you're able to make decisions based on how pressing the issue is.
Add custom labels to your task easily. Find the label option available in other task cards too, and group them together. Labels also help you find tasks easier using the filter option.
You can upload an image or a PDF as an attachment for your task. The attached image can be downloaded by any of your teammates, whenever needed. The attached image also acts as a cover image for your task card.
You can add dependent tasks within a task. We call it the subtasks! Add it using the + Add subtask button. Each subtask has the power to function like a standalone task but will be nestled under your first issue itself. It will even be listed under the first task in the task card on the board.
Use the description field to not just add information about the task, but create documentation for it. You don't have to start a new document or move externally, since the description field has the perfect markdown editor to create content inside the card itself. Add tables, boards and even images inside the description field.
